Learn how to restore damaged cards in KOTAMON, which repair tools you need, and when repairing is worth more than selling raw.
Card condition overview
Cards can be Mint, Good, Damaged, or Repaired. Mint and Good cards keep full value. Damaged cards sell for far less. Repaired cards restore most or all of their value and become acceptable for trades that require Good condition.
Where to repair cards
The repair bench is unlocked early in the Starter Dump area. Later zones may have additional benches or portable repair kits. Bring damaged cards to a bench and spend a small amount of in-game currency plus a repair tool.
Repair tools and costs
Repair tools include cleaning cloths, card sleeves, and adhesive strips. Costs scale with rarity. Common cards are cheap to repair; Super Rare cards may require rare tools found in hidden treasure containers.
When should you repair?
Repair any Rare or Super Rare card you plan to keep or sell. Repair Commons only if you need them for set completion or if the repaired value exceeds the repair cost by a comfortable margin. Damaged duplicates of common cards are usually better sold as-is early on.
Repair and trading
Some NPC traders reject Damaged cards. If a trader asks for a specific card, repair it first. Foil cards are almost always worth repairing because of their high base value.
Can you damage Mint cards?
It is currently unconfirmed whether player actions can downgrade a Mint card. Store valuable foils and chase cards in your inventory or storage to be safe.
