KOTAMON PC Performance Guide: Diagnose Before Tweaking

Official minimum requirements list Windows 10, a Core i3-class CPU, 4 GB RAM, GTX 960-class graphics with 4 GB VRAM, and 3 GB storage; recommended specs list Windows 11, Core i7-class CPU, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1070 Ti-class graphics, and 5 GB storage. These are compatibility targets, not FPS promises.

Record the symptom

Distinguish a crash, freeze, traversal hitch, input delay, and consistently low frame rate. Record when it begins, whether it repeats, and the active resolution and graphics preset.

Compare official requirements

Check OS, CPU, system memory, GPU, VRAM, and free storage against the current Steam listing. Similar model names do not guarantee equivalent performance.

Restart and reduce load

Restart the game and close unnecessary overlays or heavy background applications. Change one in-game setting at a time, starting with resolution or the clearly described expensive settings.

Verify installed files

Use Steam's official Verify integrity of game files workflow when files may be damaged. This is reversible and preferable to downloading files from third-party sites.

Protect saves before advanced steps

Do not delete configuration or save folders based on an unverified tip. Locate official support guidance first and make a backup if the game documents its save location.

Write a useful bug report

Include build, Windows version, CPU, GPU and driver, RAM, resolution, settings, exact reproduction steps, and any error text. Remove personal information from logs before sharing.
