What is a cereal box?
Unopened cereal boxes are special loot containers in KOTAMON. The Steam store page confirms they can contain super-rare foil cards, making them the primary chase item for collectors.
Confirmed spawn locations
Cereal boxes are reported in high-value trash piles and locked treasure containers. The most reliable community-reported spots are the North Junkyard rare scrap pile, the Riverbank Dump hidden cache, and the Construction Site scaffolding toolbox. They may also appear as random world spawns elsewhere.
How the drop pool works
Opening a cereal box rolls against a foil card pool. Common cards have foil versions, and each color set has at least one super-rare foil chase card. Exact odds are not published by the developer.
Opening strategy
Early game: sell your first box for quick cash if you are struggling. Mid game: save 5–10 boxes and open them all at once to reduce variance. Late game: use boxes to chase the last few foil cards for the Foil Master achievement.
Common mistakes
Selling every box immediately and missing early foil chances. Opening boxes before you have the inventory space to keep duplicates. Forgetting that cereal boxes themselves can be traded to NPCs for rare cards.
