What counts as rare in KOTAMON?
Cards are split into Common, Rare, and Super Rare rarities. Rare cards have lower spawn rates, better base value, and flashier art. Super Rare cards are usually chase pieces that only appear in specific high-value containers or from cereal box foil pulls.
Best rare-card locations
Community gameplay suggests the North Junkyard is the best early source for rare Red cards, especially near the north fence after noon. The Riverbank Dump hidden cache and Construction Site scaffolding toolbox are also reported to hold rare and super-rare cards. These observations are community-reported; exact spawn rates are not datamined yet.
High-value trash piles
Not all trash is equal. Shiny bags, metal scrap heaps, locked containers, and refrigerator-sized piles have a higher chance of yielding rare cards than generic garbage. Prioritize these even if they take longer to open.
