KOTAMON Foil Cards: Cereal Box Search Guide
The official store says an unopened cereal box can contain a super-rare foil card. It does not promise that every box contains one or publish odds and fixed box locations.
BOUNDARY
Evidence boundary Checked August 22, 2026. Demo and pre-release observations are not treated as guaranteed full-release facts.
Confirm the box is unopened
Use only the state shown by the game. Record the box label and interaction context before opening so the observation can be distinguished from loose-card finds.
Open through normal gameplay
Do not reload, edit saves, or exploit unintended states to manufacture trials. Normal play preserves collection progress and produces more useful reports.
Identify the foil marker
Copy the card name and the exact visual or text indicator used by the interface. Do not assume every shiny effect represents the same rarity.
Record condition separately
Foil status and physical condition are different fields. A damaged foil can remain a foil while having a different displayed value.
Avoid false probability claims
A short streak cannot establish a drop rate. A trustworthy estimate needs many comparable trials in the same build and a transparent sample size.
Track the find locally
Add the exact name in the collection tracker and enable Foil variant. The site does not seed fictional foil names.
