Evidence-backed guide
KOTAMON Cereal Box Guide: Search for Super-Rare Foils
Cereal boxes matter because the official description explicitly connects an unopened box with a possible super-rare foil card. This page focuses on evidence, not a promised farming exploit.
BOUNDARY
Evidence boundary Checked August 22, 2026. Demo and pre-release observations are not treated as guaranteed full-release facts.
Recognize the verified claim
The claim is possibility, not certainty: an unopened cereal box may contain a super-rare foil. No official rate or guaranteed location was available when checked.
Log each opening consistently
Record build, route, box context, card result, rarity marker, foil marker, and condition. Count unsuccessful openings too; otherwise any rate estimate is biased.
Separate box location from card result
A repeatable box does not prove a repeatable card. Document the container route and the reward observation as separate facts.
Do not publish tiny-sample odds
Ten or twenty openings can still swing widely for a rare event. Keep raw counts visible and label estimates experimental.
Preserve surprising results
Keep the card and note its displayed state before repair or swapping. Later transformations can erase the original acquisition evidence.
Cross-check after patches
Repeat observations after a named update. Do not merge demo and full-game trials in one rate.
